Infrastructure & Facilities
 
Infrastructure is a pre-requisite for any organization, which provides the underlying foundation for facilitating essential services, for overall development of a student.

Technologies are fundamental in preparing our students for the world and serve as vehicles for learning. Infrastructure certainly permits us to use the fast emerging technologies so that our students can achieve a ‘comfort level’ using the same in their daily lives.

The school provides rich infrastructure with state-of-the-art facilities, which serves as building blocks to achieve its vision. Students, teachers and administrators have access to the vast array of resources available with the existing set up of infrastructure.


a. Fine Arts

A Fine Arts department with complete paraphernalia is dedicated to harness student’s creativity whether it is Dance (Classical & Folk), Music (Vocal & Instrumental), Painting/Craft, Sculpture or preparing Electronic & Electrical Gadgets, Photography, Tailoring and Embroidery, Interior Decoration and Dramatics. Arts contribute to the development and enhancement of multiple neurobiological systems, which can be driving forces behind all other learning. It enhances student’s creativity, perceptual and cognitive skills; promotes self-esteem, motivation and cultural exposure; improves emotional expression and appreciation of diversity.

 
b. Library
 
RDPS Library is an information center with state-of-the-art facilities. It is well equipped, measuring 8000 square feet with a seating capacity of 200 students and is endowed with open access system. A special corner is allocated to the teachers for study and preparation. It is an invaluable resource of 30,000 books in English and Hindi, of Foreign and Indian Authors and also 60 standard Magazines, Periodicals and Dailies at present. It has six networked computers each having access to Internet , so that the student may have more information by using them in the library.
 
c. Science Park
 
Scientific principles are best learnt in natural environment. Following the same principle, school has installed open-air Science gadgets in the beautiful landscape of the school. These gadgets enable children and teenagers to visualize and understand the complex, nerve wrecking principles of science in a fun filled and playful manner, thereby inculcating scientific temper amongst them.

A total of 25 electronic gadgets are on display, which explain the basic principles of Sciences. e.g.

Loop the Loop - It facilitates the visualization of the Centrifugal force and Transformation of energy.

Persistence of vision- A simple display of eye's property of image retention at various speeds leading to an illusion of movement. This facilitates young learners to understand that How cartoon movies are made?

Automobile Model- It uncovers the mystery of what is underneath the sophisticated bodies of cars, which make them run.

World time- It is an apt exhibit which enables students to understand the correlation between longitudes and world standard time. In a fraction of a second they can tell the time of different countries with reference to a particular time in their own country.
 

d. Laboratories

 
  • Separate fully equipped and spacious Practical Science Labs for Physics, Chemistry and Biology are provided to the students and staff to develop their manipulative skills, as we believe in the cardinal principle of `Learning by doing'.

  • Mathematics lab is an added feature of the school, which makes learning of the subject a sheer joy for the students.
  • Language lab has been set up to develop in students an enthusiasm to learn correct diction, pronunciation and correct dialogue delivery to enable them to be confident communicators. The lab comprises of the state-of-the-art facilities accommodating 40 students. It is widely used to organize various language related activities.
  • Robotics Lab : A spacious room having computers, T.V, Infra Red tower for data communication, Robot building kits (consisting of IC’s, micro-controller, optical sensors, touch sensors, micro-processor, motor, conveyer belt etc) to facilitate building & programming of Robots. This infrastructure allows a child to illustrate & practice inter squareiplinary approach for solving problems, thus acquiring skills required for solving real life problems.

    Ultra modern, sound proof air-conditioned Auditorium with balcony having a capacity of 850 persons, fully furnished with the state-of-the-art facilities.

    Keeping in view the following dictum in mind ‘A sound mind lives in a sound body’ and believing in the fact that training in games and sports tends to give perception, judgment, courage and skill to students, makes them composed and decisive and inculcates amongst the students the qualities of a true sportsmanship, school provides first grade facilities for games and sports like:
     
    • Play ground with 200 metres athletics track, two basketball courts with fiberglass boards.

    • A handball and Kho-Kho field and a Volley Ball Court.

    • A Spacious well designed and a well equipped gymnasium and an indoor games hall providing facilities of Badminton Court and Table Tennis Tables.


    • A Swimming Pool with automatic water treatment plant of size 25 mt * 12 mt , 1 mt shallow and 2 mts. at deep end.

    The school organizes various out-door unstructured activities and structured physical activities for the students and accordingly Inter Class Competitions are held. Every student of the school is required to participate in any of the five games and accordingly, the winners are awarded badges. Students who show potential in sports and have talent for playing any game are identified through these Inter Class Competitions and are groomed by the specialized coaches. This facilitates their participation in different competitions at inter school, zonal, district and national level organized by Directorate of Education, CBSE and other organizations. Students’ sincerity and interests have yielded highly encouraging results and brought laurels to their school in various Inter-School , Zonal, District, State and National Level Competitions.

    • CAT/CAL technologies are merged with the teaching, thereby making teaching-learning an effective process. CD's, video-cassettes, website resources, BhartiyaVidya Software prepared by Jaypee Industries Ltd. and the customized multimedia presentations made by teachers helps in positive transference of Knowledge.
    • Oswal Multimedia Lab - A lab equipped with ten computers with different types of learning interfaces is used in school to provide ultimate Computer Aided Learning experience to tiny tots.
    • Technology Based Teaching Labs/Rooms - The school has
      • 6 air-conditioned Audio Visual Labs (e-Classrooms) with seating capacity ranging from 45 to 90 students. These are well equipped with multimedia projectors, networked computers, and Interactive Boards each having access to Internet.
      • 4 rooms equipped with a networked computer connected to 29" TV are provided to teachers for viewing BhartiyaVidya capsules, a unique teaching tool.
      Teachers are implementing CAT/CAL packages using these rooms. This helps the students to visualize the concepts and relate them to the real life environment for effective assimilation of information.
    • Guest-Lecture Hall – An air-conditioned Guest Lecture Hall with state-of the-art facilities, accommodating 200 students is not only used by teachers for imparting education, but is also used for organizing seminars/workshops. Distinguished personalities from various streams of education are invited to guide the students, parents and teachers and make them aware of the real world.
    • Computer literacy labs – To make students computer savvy, the school has two computer labs, senior literacy lab & junior literacy lab, having 22 networked computers in each. In these labs, the students,
      • Learn how to exploit the capabilities of computers in their day-to-day life.
      • Are trained for usage of application software, planning and providing instructions to the computer, basics of system software like Operating System Software. Multimedia software kits are an instant hit amongst young learners.
    • IT Lab – To encourage value based learning and to inculcate the habit of self-learning, the school has an IT Lab having 28 networked computers, where the students are allocated projects on various topics (English, Mathematics, Social Science, Science & Technology).
      • They are guided how to collect information by means of Internet, CD-ROMs and then reproduce it in presentable form. This is done in order to enhance the presentation and communication skills of the students.
      • To make learning truly global, IT lab makes tremendous effort to take learning beyond classroom level. Presently more than 150 students are involved in various collaborative projects with schools from countries France, Germany, Japan, US, UK, Canada etc. around the world. The students exchange information on current issues, their interests and the culture of their countries. It also facilitates the students involved in exchange programmes to communicate with their partners abroad.
      • This lab is also equipped with the CD writer, scanner and other required devices, which are used by the teachers in preparing their lesson plan and multifarious activities.
    • Video conferencing – A recently added facility into school's infrastructure. It allows class to connect in real time with distant educator and is also used by students to keep in touch with their peers of Collaborative projects. Students are able to practice and improve their presentation and communication skills, as they need to communicate during video conferencing. They can also have virtual trips, observation of various practices etc.
