RDPS celebrates Mathematics Year

"For the things of this world cannot be made known without the knowledge of Mathematics" - Roger Bacon

Mathematics in some form or other has been used since the early age of human civilization. But its use in today's world has assumed great importance, since without its application higher technology cannot be mastered and harnessed for increasing production of goods and services and promoting human welfare. Therefore learning of Mathematics and promoting the horizon of knowledge by advanced researches in Mathematics should be emphasized. To encourage and facilitate the study of Mathematics as an academic discipline, RDPS will be celebrating the year 2012 as the 'Mathematics Year'. It is a tribute to Math's wizard Srinivasa Ramanujan. The year-long celebration will focus on bringing children closer to Mathematics. Efforts will be made to remove their apprehensions about mathematics, provide better understanding of concepts and linking Mathematics to everyday life. Our country needs to produce more mathematicians of the caliber of Ramanujan to become a knowledge superpower in the world. Since learning begins at home, we seek your cooperation in making this endeavour a success. Parent involvement can make a difference in a child's education. A partnership between parents and school focused on academics truly does have significant impact on student's achievement. We embrace the participation of parents in this venture. We look forward to your ideas and feedback which we can incorporate in our bid for continual improvement.
