MultiCultural Exchange Programme
The days of compartmentalization, narrow nationalistic feelings, racial prejudices and linguistic chauvinism are gone. They have become meaningless in the present set-up of globalization. Universal fraternity, international outlook and wider spectrum of thoughts are the requirements of the time. This understanding needs to be inculcated amongst young scholars in their formative school years itself. Hence forth, we at RDPS continually strive for providing young Rukminians ample opportunities to interact with their counterparts across the globe via Multicultural Exchange Programmes throughout the year.

Objectives

'Sharing and caring are the bubbles of effervescence which not only give joy to others but also enrich our perception of others.'

Normally the objective of an exchange programme is the cultural assimilation of its various aspects of the people of two different nations.

Exchange of information during such programmes cater to a wider global perspective, improved self-confidence and thus make way for personality enrichment of the participants.

Besides, it has other multifarious objectives, which are more specific and precise in nature i.e.
  • To apprise them of the quintessential aspect of Indian tradition ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’. Stay with the families help facilitate learning of family values, ethics and life styles. Personal observations cater to comparisons of respective living habits. For instance: Indian joint family systems as compared to western nuclear family systems.

  • Exchange of information pertaining to, teaching-learning methodologies of foreign language as well as in other subjects, adopted by the respective schools.

  • To familiarize with the rich cultural inheritance of the society through visits to monuments of national and international importance.

  • To develop sensitivity and empathy towards the deprived section of the developing society and to acquire knowledge about global development and advancement of the developed world.

  • Appraisal of mythological beliefs, religious practices and rituals prevalent among its people that reflect the religious ideologies and perceptions of the nationals.

  • To appreciate and acknowledge creative expressions through indigenous performing art forms and style viz. a. viz. dance, ballet, instrumental and vocal music etc.
